Welcoming artists from across the globe to the small town of Hay on Wye on the English/Welsh border JR Event Services works closely alongside the client and event team to ensure the installation of all the technical infrastructure goes according to plan and is robust enough to cope with the 10 day event period. Providing technical project management for a range of venues from 1400 seat auditoriums to intimate event hospitality zones.
Battle of Britain Anniversary Dinner

May 2010 saw over 400 guests, including veteran fighter pilots from the Battle of Britain, gather to commemorate the event with a formal dinner. JR Event Services were contracted to provide the event technical design and equipment for the event.

The dinner was held within the listed hangars housing the classic Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft which served during the battle. These needed to remain visible throughout the evening. Utilising a number of flown truss bars to provide lighting, video and sound positions, the design concentrated on minimising the amount of equipment needed at floor level. With three projector screens to allow for excellent viewing of the guest speakers the specification required the key exhibits to be lit whilst ensuring that the ambience was crisp and discreet.

To reduce heat and energy consumption during the event LED fixtures were specified for lighting of the exhibits and walkways. To enable the museum to operate as normal all the installation and after show removal of equipment were conducted overnight in order to minimise disruption.
Caribbean Night

JR Event Services were contracted to provide full Event Management Services for this event held in the middle of August 2010 in East Devon. JR Event Services provided licensing assistance through to technical design and project management. The event saw in excess of 2000 guests dance the night away to sounds of the Caribbean. Utilising an open sided clear-span marquee with a main stage positioned at one end the site was able to provide an undercover dance-floor for 1000 people whilst maintaining sight-lines from across the rest of the site.

Due to the location JR Event Services worked closely with the Environmental Health Department of the Local Authority to minimise noise nuisance for any of the local residents. This included a defined PA specification reducing sound dispersion to the minimum outside of the site boundaries whilst also implementing a continuous noise monitoring package utilising SPLnet to ensure the event met all its licensing obligations. The event is set for a return in 2011 with JR Event Services once again contracted to Event Manage the production.
